The 2010 Worship Committee has committed not only to working hard to enhance our worship experiences at Parkway Presbyterian but also to communicating with the Parkway family on a regular basis. We want you to know that we welcome your comments and suggestions, and we want your worship at Parkway to be spiritually fulfilling, educational, life-changing, peace-giving , community-of-faith experiences…..now we may not accomplish all of the above on any given Sunday, but overall and over time, these are worthy and accomplishable goals.
We are in the Season of Lent and moving rapidly to Holy Week and a glorious Easter Day. There will be additional announcements about our Holy Week services forthcoming. This announcement will focus on PALM SUNDAY, the first of our Holy Week services.

PALM SUNDAY is March 28. Both First Light and 11 am worshipers will gather in the Fellowship Hall at 10 am for a time of community and refreshments. At 10:30, weather dependent, we will either move to the lawn or remain in the Fellowship Hall to begin a service of celebration (yes!) of the Lord’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem. This service will follow our Book of Order. While Jesus knew this path would lead him to the Cross, for us as believers it is a day to celebrate his commitment to redeem us. (If you missed Dan’s sermon on February 28, he touches on the importance of Jesus coming to Jerusalem to begin his Passion and adds that we too are “Jerusalem” when Christ enters us with high expectations of the work we will do for Him – consider checking out this sermon from our library as a wonderful preparation for the Palm Sunday service!)
We will sing – we will wave palm branches –we will share scripture - and we will walk together to the sanctuary to pray, sing, and set our course for the Holy Week that is ahead of us. For any who feel unable to make the walk, please join us in the sanctuary shortly before 11 am.
Let us come – worship – and prepare ourselves to walk with Christ in his Passion throughout Holy Week.
